Get Your API Key

Veamcast Assistant connects directly to AI providers using your personal API key. Your key is stored only in your browser and never sent to Veamcast servers. You pay the provider directly for what you use — no subscription required.

Key format reference:
Anthropic keys start with sk-ant-api03-
OpenAI keys start with sk-proj-

Anthropic (Claude)

Available
  1. Go to platform.claude.com and create a free account https://platform.claude.com
  2. Navigate to Settings → API Keys https://platform.claude.com/settings/keys
  3. Click Create Key and give it a name (e.g. "Veamcast")
  4. Copy the key (starts with sk-ant-api03-)
  5. Add a payment method under Settings → Billing
  6. Paste the key into Veamcast Assistant and select Anthropic as provider
Pricing: Pay-as-you-go, no monthly fee. Typical conversations cost fractions of a cent. You can set a monthly spend limit in the Anthropic console under Settings → Limits.

OpenAI (GPT)

Available
  1. Go to platform.openai.com and create a free account https://platform.openai.com
  2. Navigate to API Keys in the left sidebar https://platform.openai.com/api-keys
  3. Click Create new secret key and give it a name
  4. Copy the key (starts with sk-proj-)
  5. Add a payment method under Settings → Billing
  6. Paste the key into Veamcast Assistant and select OpenAI as provider
Pricing: Pay-as-you-go, no monthly fee. This is separate from a ChatGPT Plus subscription. You can set spend limits under Settings → Limits.
