Veamcast

Creator terms

Our cost, plus a markup. That's the whole bill.

Veamcast is a new ad-supported streaming platform. In its top tier, instead of taking a cut of what you earn, we meter what your channel actually costs us to run and bill you that, plus a markup.

You keep your ad and affiliate revenue. All of it. This page is about that tier. The other two are described below.

Which tier this is

Veamcast will have three kinds of channel. What separates them is who controls the advertising and who keeps what it earns.

Free

Nothing to pay. Ads run against your channel and you get some say in which ones, but the ad money is ours. Nothing is billed to you and nothing is paid to you.

Revenue share

You choose your advertising from a set we bring you, and we split what it earns with you. This tier carries a low fee, and you have to be verified and vetted to join it. The fee is waived for early adopters.

Your own advertising

You sell your own slots and run your own affiliate deals, and you keep all of it. In exchange you pay what your channel costs to deliver, plus a markup. That is the bill set out on this page.

Why it is built this way

No cut of your revenue

In this tier your ad money and your affiliate commissions are yours. We are not a partner in your earnings, we are a supplier of bandwidth, storage and ad serving.

An itemized bill

Delivery, storage, transcoding, ad serving. Every line is metered from your real usage, so you can see exactly what drove the number and change it if you want to.

Growth does not punish you

A share of your earnings gets more expensive for you the better you do, which is why the top tier does not take one. A cost-plus bill does not move with your rate card. The more your channel earns per view, the more of it you keep.

How the markup works

We are not going to put a markup percentage on this page, because we do not yet know what serving a real creator's channel costs at real volume. Finding that out is a large part of what these first channels are for.

Here is what we can tell you about the direction it moves.

  1. The creators here now pay the lowest markup we will ever charge You are taking on the most risk and doing the most work, so you get the best terms on the platform.
  2. Everyone who follows pays more Each group joins a more finished product with fewer unknowns, and the markup goes up accordingly.
  3. Public pricing gets set from this data Everything we learn about real costs now becomes the basis for what we charge at launch.

The rate you join at is the rate you keep. When public pricing lands, your deal does not change.

What this is, both ways

What we ask of you

  • Use it seriously, with content you actually care about
  • Tell us what breaks, specifically, and stay while we fix it
  • Check your statements and tell us when the metering looks wrong
  • Answer us when we ask what you think

What you get from us

  • Veamcast staff working with you directly to set up and test your campaigns
  • A direct line to the people who built the platform, not a ticket queue
  • Open ground, with no backlog of established channels ahead of you in any category
  • Your markup, locked, through launch and after

Nothing here is billed by surprise

We will walk you through the numbers for your own channel before anything is metered, and we will send you the written terms before you are billed for anything. If the math does not work for you, it does not work for us either.
