Veamcast
Everything we have committed to in writing, gathered in one place. If you are looking for what we collect and why, start with the Privacy Policy. If you want something removed, skip to Correcting or removing your data.
None of these are final yet. Every policy on this page is a working draft that has not been through its final legal review, and the wording will change once a lawyer has been through all of them. We publish them as they stand because you are entitled to read what we actually do today rather than wait for the finished documents.
13 or older to have a Veamcast account. Every client asks for your birth month and year before an account is created, and an answer under 13 is refused.
18 or older to run ads or take money. Creating or editing an ad campaign, attaching one to a channel or a veam, and joining a tier that pays out are all restricted to account holders 18 and over. The check is made on our servers from the birthday already on file, so it is the same answer in every app. Ad campaigns and monetized channels are available to account holders 18 and over; everything else on Veamcast stays at 13.
The 18 rule is a working draft and has not had its legal review. It is in force on the servers as described, and the Terms of Service body has not yet been rewritten around it. Read why we ask for your birth month and year for what the answer is used for and where it is kept.
There is no screen anywhere in Veamcast that asks for the password to your email account. Signing in with Gmail or Outlook hands you to Google or Microsoft, who sign you in on their own pages and return a token to us; we never see the password you typed and cannot read it later. Signing in with just an address sends a one-time link to that address, which proves you can read the mailbox without any password at all.
Where an older provider offers no such handover, Veamcast asks for an application password: a separate credential you generate at that provider and can revoke at any time, which is not your account password and gives no access to anything but the mailbox.
In the web player, open Your Personal Data on your account view to see what is on file for you and correct it. To close an account and have its data removed, use the account deletion request form, or write to us and we will do it for you.
Policy, privacy, the early adopters program, or help with an account, all at one
address: contact@veamcast.com. There is no
separate queue for any of those, and a person reads it.
Copyright notices are the one exception: those go to the designated agent, who is
registered with the U.S. Copyright Office. See the
DMCA policy for that address.
Veamcast is a small operation and these pages are kept current by hand. If you find one that contradicts another, tell us at contact@veamcast.com and we will fix it rather than argue it.
